Change

Sunday 16 November 2014

Change is inevitable, but the best change is when you pick when it happens and not when it picks you. In the past few years I've made changes in my life and it's led me to where I stand today, a more confident individual. These changes were hard to make at first but I knew I had to do them to get myself to where I needed to be.

This summer I made one of the biggest decisions of my life so far, and that was to venture off to university. Back home I lived in a village where it was a five/ten minute drive to the closest town, so the type of opportunities I wanted for my career path weren't as easily available as they would be in a city environment. So I went through the whole scouting around for universities until I found one that felt right, it was Portsmouth.

Portsmouth for me was the perfect balance of surroundings. You were in the centre of the city and a ten minute walk from the sea front. Being so near the sea is the perfect outlet to clear my mind and organise my thoughts, a place to go to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city lights for just a brief moment.

Although daunting at first, it is by far the easiest change I've had to make, a fresh start, new people, new places and a new blog layout.

It's a new chapter for me and my blog and I hope you'll stay along for the journey.

  1. It's so great that you've made such a big decision I'm sure you'll have an amazing time at uni! I'm in the same situation as you and live in a small village in the north east and there are literally no opportunities around here at all. I'm in my second year of Law at Durham Uni so after hope to move to the city! Change is almost always a positive thing!
