Organised Chaos

Tuesday 26 February 2013

For a while I've been struggling to find a pretty but practical way to store my makeup. I was tired of rummaging through my hefty make up bag early in the morning so I decided to get organised! So on my travels I have been on lookout for pretty jars/pots and these are the ones I found.

I bought these 4 pots for 50p each from a charity shop. As soon as I saw these I knew they would be perfect to put my make up in. I decided to put some assorted marbles in the bottom so the products would poke out the top which makes them easier pick out. I wanted to simplify my setup so I divided my make up into four categories.
1. Mascaras
2. Eyes (liner, brow pencil, lash curler etc)
3. Skin Care ( Spot creams etc)
4. Lipsticks and Balms

I thought these small jars were really cute and matched my make up organizational needs! They're a perfect size for eyeliners and mascaras! If I ever need any more they seem easy enough to make yourself. All you really need to make your own versions of these is some old empty jars (jam jars, sweet jars etc) and some glass paint. The best thing about making your own is that you can make it as personal as you want and you can create your own designs.

I found this sunflower trinket once again in a charity shop. As soon as I saw the Trinket I fell absolutely in love with it. Sunflowers are my favourite flowers so I just had to get it! The top is completely open so I knew it would be perfect for my make up brushes and foundations
( Still looking for a foundation that suits my skin so if you have any recommendations please leave them in the comment section below).
Luckily when I got home it was the perfect fit. It's in pristine condition so I hope it stands the test of time.

At the minute I am currently keeping all my powders and mini palettes on top of my ring box. At the moment it's doing the job but i'm still on look out for a container for it all. The ones I've found so far have either been too big or too small, so I'm still hunting for my perfect powder and pallete. If you have any suggestions or have seen any online feel free to let me know in the comment section below!

I hope you've enjoyed reading about my organised chaos that I call my make up storage!
Let me know what you think below!

Until next time
